Mine was in a sale and only came with red cams....I ordered a pair of the black ones (which are the least off-set I believe) as a comparison but still preferred the red ones. When the pedal is depressed (with red cams) the strap is straight up, or at 12:00 if you like. Without pressing the pedal the strap leans toward the head, sort of at 1:00 (when I'm looking at it from the right-hand side). I didn't check, but this basically means if the black cam was on the un-pressed pedal it would be at 12:00, i.e. straight up and not leaning towards the head.
Hope this rambling helps somehow.

I use DW 5000 nylon strap pedals, love em. I have an AXIS and at onetime swore by it, but they are too fragile for road work. I have a DW 9000 on order and am looking forward to cheking it out, heard many good things about this pedal.

Can you tell me what happened
to the pedal (the Axis)?
I have seen promo on the DW9K.
It looks like something good
and it better be for the price,
right?

Also, was it the X or A?

Well, my AXIS is first generation and the slightest knock to it an dthe adjustment would go out. Darryl is a good friend of mine and built my single into a double. I just came ot the conclusion it's not a road friendly pedal and I decide dto switch back to my old fav nylon type pedal. The older Yamaha strap was such a smooth pedal then I switched to the DW.......

Thanks again, Randy.
I just bought my A's. I'm
slamming them. Maybe your
input has been taken to
heart over there.
Hey, tell them to put a
spring or cushion on the
A-Longboard.

I use Eliminators, and thought I like them with the chain drive, I'm going to get straps for them. They're a tad heavy (for me) with the chains. Great quality and construction though.

The DW 9000 has an adjustable cam, It should actually give you an inbetween feel too.
